One of the best courses around Indianapolis that you've never heard of! Bear Slide Golf Club may also have the coolest name of any golf course in the area. Opened in 1993, this Dean Refram golf course is set alongside Bear Slide Creek, hence the name. The course is unique in the fact it offers two different design styles with a links-like front nine and a more traditional tree-lined back.
Pros: The reviews of this course were nearly all positive. The reviewers raved about the condition of the course, stating the greens were pure, the fairways were excellent, and the bunkers were well maintained. Lots of praise on the two different styles of play when you transition from the front to the back. The course seems to have a large driving range and separate chipping/putting areas as well.
Cons: There were not a lot of negative reviews to comb through, but a few people stated there are a few blind shots and you need to know of the course beforehand to know where to go. The location is another concern, being thirty miles away from the heart of the city, so keep that in mind. I did not see anything on their website about food and drinks and there was nothing in the reviews either so food options may be limited.
This is a great course to add to the list when visiting Indianapolis! It is up there with The Fort on reasonable pricing and the condition seems slightly better!
